Set on a ridge line with panoramic views and minutes from Franklin, Ridge Top Lodge is a perfect location for couples’ weekends, a girls’ get away, or family retreat during the holidays. Wide decks, hardwood floors, gourmet kitchen, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, and a view from every bed welcome guests for short or extended stays.

A wood-burning fireplace (wood provided) in the two story great room creates a cozy and romantic atmosphere during cooler months. Dining area can accommodate 10. . In addition, lower-level studios offer quilters and crafters comfortable seating and tables for creating.

Four sleeping areas in upper and lower levels accommodates a total of 10 guests in single beds. Master suite can be configured for one king bed and one twin-size day bed.

A loft area over the kitchen offers a tree-house-like atmosphere and comfortable seating and a desk.

Ridge Top Lodge is non-smoking, pet –free to keep the space as allergy friendly as possible and unfortunately not suitable for small children.

Kitchen A fully equipped and spacious gourmet kitchen can accommodate your “chef” and several helpers working together. The island with gas range and adjacent pot sink faces the great room/dining area and western mountain views. Opposite is the main counter facing east. This area includes double stainless sink, “garage” for coffee and toaster makers, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and storage for cookware, classes and dishes. A butler’s pantry includes a two-door refrigerator, deep sink, and full-size washer and dryer. Small appliances stored here include a six-quart crock pot, electric skillet, blender, roasting pan, George Foreman Grill, and waffle maker.

Sleeping Areas – all face western view. Luggage racks are provided for each bed space.


The Master Suite can be configured for one king-size bed and one day bed; or three twin beds. The high-ceiling room includes a four-drawer chest, hanging racks over doors, wall-mounted television, and night stands with reading lights at each bedside. A cozy window seat is the perfect reading nook. French doors open to deck seating. The master bath includes a spa tub, roll-in shower, two vanities with sinks and a private commode space.

The Cat-o-lina Suite (only quilted cats here)

Three twin beds, an antique armoire and stuffed reading chair anchor this guest room. A large closet offers hanging space. The bath includes a free-standing tiled shower, vanity with sink and storage tower, and commode. French doors open to west-facing deck.


The Wicker Suite includes two twin beds, armoire, bedside tables with reading lights, rocking chair and closet. The bath vanity is an old chest re-purposed. The step-in shower and commode complete the suite. Glass sliding doors open to a private sitting area.

The large Patio Room includes two twin beds with night stands and reading lamps at one end and a television viewing area with deep leather chairs at the other. Sliding glass doors open to a spacious patio with table and chairs, and a hammock. Great location to watch the rain come over the western mountains and still stay dry under the tin roof.  Guests sleeping in the room use the bath in the adjacent studio. The private bath includes a step-in-shower, re-purposed chest vanity with sink and commode.

The Studio

Originally planned as a yoga studio, this large room has served as the sewing area for quilters who’ve come to Ridgetop for small-group-of-friends retreats. The cork floor makes standing at ironing or cutting stations (provided) more comfortable. The adjacent “garage design studio” includes a large design wall and 4’ X 8’ cutting table with rotary cutting mats. Two full-service quilt shops in Franklin offer great shopping for fabric, notions and machines.
